Time

"This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have been thinking a lot about time recently.  How do we spend time as a family?  Are we spending too much time...
watching TV
playing video games
on the computer
rushing from place to place
going to scheduled activities and classes

Do we get enough time...
outside
reading
creating
building
exploring
playing
writing
having fun

I am going to focus on how I am using my family's time.  I am going to place our priorities on making time to enjoy the little things...
hugs
smiles
laughs
bedtime stories
family dinners
conversations
being fascinated with people
moments in nature
making our house a home
helping others
thank yous
I love yous

"The key is in not spending time, but in investing it."
Stephen R. Covey

  1. What a valuable reflection for your family. You made me think about the many times I've thought about imposing a "no screen night" in my house (for me - I don't have children). I need to take the plunge and do that. April challenge?

  2. I'm enjoying the reflection that comes with reading and writing posts, a chance to stop rushing and have fun creating. Thanks for reminding us to make time to enjoy little things - slicing is helping me to focus on those little things!
