  1. I still love the cover of Almost Home, especially the details of the rips in the sweater. And the puppy! Great book, too.

  2. Almost Home and Small as an Elephant --loved them! They pair well too. If you enjoyed those you might also enjoy Bauer's Close to Famous--the character is not in as dire straights, but close. Choice Words changed how I thought about my own language in the classroom. It's a powerful book.

  3. Wow! so many books! I loved Small as an Elephant, especially as a Mainer. Really need to find the Ken Gilligan book.
